On March 18, 1965 a six-year old child was last seen walking from her home in Tyrone, Blair County, to the Adams elementary school, approximately 4 blocks away. No trace of her has ever been found.
On December 20, 1976 a young, pregnant female was found on the banks of the Lehigh River in Carbon County. She was the victim of a homicide. She has never been identified. She is the inspiration for this web site.
There are literally thousands of people missing in the United States at any given time. The greater majority will return home within a few days, or a few weeks. But there are many - so many - who will not.
Then there are the Unidentified. Those whose remains have been found but who remain, despite the efforts of Law Enforcement, unnamed, unclaimed and unknown. Those whose legacy is an anonymous grave with an anonymous marker. Is there any lonelier way to leave this life?
This web site was launched for several reasons:
To promote public awareness of Pennsylvania's missing and unidentified persons.
To provide a central location for all of the missing and unidentified cases within the state.
To assist in finding the missing persons, and to provide support and resources for those dealing with missing person situations.
To strive to identify the Jane Does and John Does found within our borders. To give them back their names and perhaps, in some small way, their dignity.
I would be happy to add cases of missing persons within Pennsylvania, however, no cases will be added without verification and permission of the Law Enforcement Agency whose jurisdiction the case falls under. Please visit the "Case Criteria" section of this site for further information.
Thank you for visiting Pennsylvania Missing Persons.
