Case Details
On the afternoon of Monday, December 26, 2011, a motorist travelling on State Route 191 in Paradise Township, south of Henryville, discovered a man's torso along the southbound lane of the road. The torso was inside four black trash bags with red ties, tied together with a white cotton clothesline. The rope had been fashioned into a handle (see photo above). The head, arms and legs had been removed from the body and were not present with the torso.
Authorities spent several days searching the heavily wooded area but no additional body parts were found. It is estimated that the man had died 2 weeks to 2 months prior to the torso being found.
